Fugitive New Hampshire Parolee Arrested in Texas by U.S. Marshals

Concord, NH – Fugitive New Hampshire parolee and this week's "Fugitive of the Week," Kevin William Paul, 41, was arrested without incident this afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Copperas Cove, TX.

Paul, who was considered to be armed and dangerous was being sought on parole violations stemming from his original conviction for attempted 2nd degree murder surrounding the 1997 murder of Epsom, New Hampshire police officer, Jeremy Charron. Paul was last known to be living at sober house on electronic monitoring in Manchester, New Hampshire when he fled. An arrest warrant was issued by the State of New Hampshire Parole Board on February 14th and they requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force at that time.

As part of this search, Paul was featured this morning as the "Fugitive of the Week" and up to a $2500.00 reward had been offered. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster's Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, the Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The ""Fugitive of the Week" continues to be a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the "Fugitive of the Week" is distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers.

Although countless tips were received, ultimately it was the investigative efforts of members of thus. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in both Tennessee and Texas that led investigators to Paul's location this afternoon at an apartment in the 300 block of Northern Dove Lane in Copperas Cove, Texas. Once Paul was observed, members of the U.S. Marshals – Lone Star Fugitive Task Force moved in and arrested Paul without incident. Paul was transported to the Bell County Jail, where he will be processed and held as a fugitive from justice on the outstanding New Hampshire Parole Violation warrant.

This arrest was made by several member agencies of the U.S. Marshals - Lone Star Fugitive Task Force including; the Killeen & Waco Police Departments, the Bell & McLennen County Sheriff's Departments, Texas Department of Public Safety, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, along with deputy U.S. Marshals.

U.S. Marshal, Nick Willard says, "I am very pleased that this very dangerous fugitive is back in custody where he belongs." Willard continued, "I cannot thank the many law enforcement officers around the State and around the Country enough who were willing to work tirelessly until Paul was safely in handcuffs."

Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 7,908 arrests (Updated as of 12/16/2019). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
