The U.S. Marshals serves as the enforcement arm of the federal courts and is involved in virtually every federal law enforcement initiative.

Below are the news releases shared across the U.S. Marshals Service’s 94 districts informing the public of the day-to-day activities ranging from fugitive arrests, asset forfeitures, prisoner operations, judicial security measures as well as highlighting individual achievements and success stories within the agency.

  • Philadelphia Gang Member Accused of Killing 3 Captured by U.S. Marshals

    Philadelphia, PA - The U.S. Marshals Service Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force apprehended Tyvine Jones, 25, at an apartment complex on Lansdowne Avenue in Delaware County. Jones, a member and alleged hitman of the “Blumberg” gang, was wanted for three separate Philadelphia murders.

  • Two Homicide Suspects Wanted by Cleveland Police Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force

    Cleveland, OH – Early this morning, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Dominick Newby, 20, and Jayshawn Collins, 19.  Both men were wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for murder.

    Pecos, TX – Members of the U.S. Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive Task Force last week arrested an individual who was sought for a homicide in Ward County, Texas. 

    David Eugene Biggerstaff, 68, was arrested for a murder that stemmed from an incident in Barstow, that occurred in 2018 and was initially ruled a suicide.

    Bufallo, NY – An intensive investigation led by the U.S. Marshals Service along with the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force resulted in the apprehension Dec. 8 of a person of interest involved in the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd.

    Washington, D.C. — The U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in New York today arrested a person of interest in the Nov. 16 shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd. The 20-year-old man, whose name has not been publicly released, was taken into custody in Buffalo and is being transported back to New York City to face charges.

    Martinsburg, WV – Members of the U.S. Marshals (USMS) Mountain State Fugitive Task Force today arrested in Charles Town an El Salvador man wanted on an outstanding warrant in Galveston County, Texas, for aggravated sexual assault of a child stemming from an incident in September 1998.

    Memphis, TN – Members of the Memphis Safe Task Force on Thursday arrested a Memphis man charged in Shelby County on robbery, aggravated assault and theft of a firearm charges.

    Samuel Floyd, 18, was arrested at approximately 2:15 p.m. in the 3300 block of Aden Street after a brief foot pursuit.  During the arrest, officers recovered a 9mm handgun.

    Memphis, TN – Members of the Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) on Wednesday arrested two Memphis men who were both felons in possession of firearms, with one of the men also arrested on an aggravated assault charge.

  • U.S. Marshals in Virginia Arrest Linn County Sex Abuse Suspect

    Cedar Rapids, IA – U.S. Marshals in Virginia on Wednesday arrested a man wanted on several sex abuse charges in Iowa. 

    Jonathan Christopher Walton, 22, is wanted in Linn County in connection to multiple charges of sexual abuse (third-degree). Walton, who is from Virginia, is alleged to have traveled to Iowa to engage in a sexual relationship with a minor.

  • Stevens County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Leads to U.S. Marshals, Spokane Valley Detectives Arresting Mother Wanted in Child’s Overdose

    Austin, TX – Members of the U.S. Marshals-led Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force Wednesday afternoon arrested an individual who was sought for aggravated sexual assault of a child in Williamson County. 

    Rutilo Alfonso Renteria, 59, who was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child that occurred in July of 2024.

    Oxford, MS – Tra-Shawn Robinson, 26, was arrested in Grenada, Mississippi on November 19, 2025, after a fugitive investigation conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). Robinson was wanted by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault, domestic assault with bodily harm, aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and vandalism.
