U.S. Marshals Arrest Escaped Inmate From Alabama Department of Corrections

Montgomery, AL - The U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) arrested an Alabama Department of Corrections escapee May 26.

Tandion Stoudemire, 21, was serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder out of Montgomery County when he escaped from Staton Correctional Facility in Elmore County around 2 a.m., May 25.

After members of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force located Stoudemire hiding in a locked room at a residence in the 3900 block of Woodley Road, they breached the door and arrested him without incident.

Stoudemire has been turned over to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has partnership agreements with over 71 federal, state, and local agencies and has 8 fully operational offices. The GCRFTF has successfully apprehended over 66,000 fugitives since its inception in July 2006 and has made an extraordinary impact on the apprehension of the region’s most dangerous and violent fugitives, always striving to make their communities safer.
