Cleveland Man Wanted in Two Separate Shootings Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Miami

Miami, FL – Today, members of the Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Marlon Benn. Benn was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder and felonious assault.

Benn is alleged to be involved in two separate shooting incidents in 2023. On April 30, Benn is alleged to have committed a drive by shooting on W. 59th Street in Cleveland, where he fired multiple rounds at a 29-year-old female who was occupying a vehicle. The female was not struck by any bullets, but the vehicle sustained damage. On July 23, Benn is alleged to be involved in a double shooting that took place outside the Power Cabaret and Madusa Restaurant & Lounge on St. Clair Avenue. According to police, Benn exchanged gunfire in the parking lots and 34-year-old Tramaine Locklear was taken by private auto to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead after being shot multiple times in the chest. A 44-year-old woman was also hurt after being hit in the leg.

Benn was featured as the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive of the Week back in August and based on tips received from that, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force developed information that he had fled from Ohio to Florida. The information led investigators to an address in the 6900 block of N. Miami Ave., Miami, Florida where he was ultimately arrested. Benn will be held in local custody until he is extradited back to Ohio.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service in Northern Ohio and the Cleveland Division of Police continue to work together to make the city of Cleveland a safer place. Today, progress was made, as another violent shooter was arrested and will be brought back to Ohio to faces charges.”
