Fayetteville, AR – Tuesday afternoon around 4:00 pm, the US Marshals Service arrested Rephayah OSELMO in Fayetteville, Arkansas. OSELMO was wanted by the State of New York for Murder in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
The warrant was issued out of Onondaga County, City of Syracuse, New York on the 8th day of October this year. The US Marshals were brought in shortly after the warrant was issued due to the fact that OSELMO was believed to have fled the state.
The investigation led the US Marshals to an apartment complex off South Lewis Avenue in Fayetteville. OSELMO attempted to flee the area by jumping from a second story window but was taken quickly into custody by deputy marshals.
US Marshals Service task forces combine the efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest the most dangerous fugitives. These task forces are dedicated to reducing violent crime by locating and apprehending wanted criminals. They also serve as the central point for agencies to share information on fugitive matters. In 2024, the U. S. Marshals arrested 74,222 fugitives, cleared 88,765 warrants, which averaged out to around 297 fugitives arrested per day in 2024 alone.
