Stephanie Creasy, Acting Deputy Director

Stephanie Creasy is the Acting Deputy Director of the United States Marshals Service (USMS). Serving as second in command of the Nation’s oldest law enforcement agency, Acting Deputy Director Creasy assists in the formulation, development, and implementation of all policies and procedures for a force of more than 5,000 operational and administrative employees spanning 94 districts, 218 sub-offices, and 4 foreign field offices. Acting Deputy Director Creasy also provides oversight of the operation and administration of federal judicial security (including oversight of more than 5,000 contract court security officers), fugitive apprehension, witness security, asset forfeiture, and prisoner operations. Acting Deputy Director Creasy’s career with the USMS began in 1998, as a Deputy United States Marshal (DUSM) in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has served as a Recruiting Officer, Warrants Coordinator, Public Affairs Officer, Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Coordinator, Sexual Offender Investigative Coordinator, and on the USMS Career Board.

Throughout her career, Acting Deputy Director Creasy thrived in investigations. In the Western District of Tennessee, she was assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) OCDETF, where she and her DEA partner successfully investigated and dismantled 

Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO) and arrested OCDETF fugitives, including the DTO and arrest of former USMS 15 Most Wanted Craig Petties, who was ultimately sentenced to nine life sentences. Acting Deputy Director Creasy was later promoted to Senior Inspector in the Technical Operations Group (TOG) where she successfully completed hundreds of investigations. Her most rewarding accomplishments include the recovery of missing children.

Acting Deputy Director Creasy has served in various leadership positions in the USMS where she continuously initiated and led innovative change, including implementing the USMS Distance Learning Program, incorporating the DISC Behavior Assessment and training in USMS leadership programs, and the integration of Basic DUSM and Criminal Investigator training.

Acting Deputy Director Creasy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a concentration in Technical and Professional Writing and Editing from the University of Memphis, and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy University
