Memphis Safe Task Force Arrests Suspect Wanted for First Degree Murder and Friend with Warrants

Memphis, Tennessee — The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the successful arrest of Kamari West, 21, in Memphis, Tennessee.
At 9:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, members of the Memphis Safe Task Force arrested West on a warrant for first-degree murder. After locating his vehicle at a residence, MSTF officers and agents observed West at his residence and knocked and announced they were there with a warrant for his arrest. He did attempt to flee, but once he saw officers, he stopped and was taken into custody without incident.
West was wanted for the murder of Jaden Echols on March 24, 2025.
After his arrest, task force officers and agents searched the home and found four firearms, which were seized.
While securing the residence, Mario Metcalf, 21, was also discovered and had multiple outstanding warrants for aggravated assault, theft of property, and failure to appear. He was also taken into custody without incident.
