Memphis Safe Task Force Intercepts Armed, Undocumented Suspect During Traffic Violation

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the arrest of Juan Osmar Sanchez-Palacios, 31, following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of multiple criminal violations.
Sanchez-Palacios was arrested for:
Unlawful possession of a firearm by an illegal alien
Possession of a firearm during the commission of a drug crime
Possession of controlled substances (Cocaine and Marijuana)
The arrest occurred after Task Force members conducted a traffic stop in the area of Summer Avenue for a moving violation. Sanchez-Palacios was identified as the vehicle’s operator.
According to reports, the roadside stop led to the discovery that Sanchez-Palacios was in possession of a firearm, a substantial quantity of illegal narcotics, cash, and assorted drug paraphernalia. The firearm and narcotics were recovered on scene and are now in law enforcement custody.
This arrest reflects the Task Force’s continued commitment to removing illegal firearms and narcotics from Memphis streets. The Memphis Safe Task Force remains focused on violent crime suppression, locating, and apprehending fugitives, and illegal firearm interdiction, regardless of immigration status.
