Memphis Safe Task Force Arrests Honduran National for Child Rape and Aggravated Sexual Battery

For immediate release

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the arrest of Alex Rodriguez (also known as Rodriguez‑Aguirres), 52, on an outstanding state warrant for Rape of a Child and Aggravated Sexual Battery.

The arrest occurred during a targeted warrant operation conducted by Task Force members. Rodriguez, a Honduran national, was also determined to be unlawfully present in the United States. The warrant alleges that the victim of these offenses was between the ages of 8 and 13 years old.

This arrest underscores the Memphis Safe Task Force’s continued commitment to violent crime suppression and fugitive apprehension. Since its inception, the Task Force has been focused on targeting the worst offenders, including violent sex offenders, regardless of immigration status.

From the start, the goal has been to provide lasting protection and safety for the communities and citizens of Memphis. That commitment extends beyond individual arrests; it reflects a sustained effort to dismantle networks of violence, remove illegal firearms, narcotics, and, in this case, apprehend violent sex offenders from Memphis streets, ensuring accountability for those who pose a threat to public safety.

The Memphis Safe Task Force’s mission remains clear: to locate and arrest individuals wanted for serious offenses, to safeguard neighborhoods from violent offenders, and to deliver justice without exception.
