In Relentless Pursuit of Justice, Arrest Made in 2024 Shelby County Homicide

Southeast Shelby County, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces the arrest of Nigel Farmer, 30, for first degree murder.

On October 29, 2024, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting with injuries in the 7800 block of Shadowland Cove. Upon arrival, deputies located a 31‑year‑old woman who was unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Shelby County Fire personnel responded and pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Over the past year, detectives conducted an extensive investigation that identified Nigel Farmer, 30, as the individual responsible for the death. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Farmer on a charge of First-Degree Murder.

On November 19, 2025, based on investigative leads developed by the Memphis Safe Task Force, Farmer was located and apprehended in Omaha, Nebraska by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Metro Fugitive Task Force. He is currently charged as a fugitive from justice and is being held in Nebraska pending extradition back to Shelby County, Tennessee. In collaboration with our county, local, state, and federal partners, justice knows no borders. We will continue to pursue accountability, no matter the state, no matter the country, and no matter the distance.
