Memphis, TN – The Memphis Safe Task Force announces that more than 400 affiliated gang members have been arrested since its launch. Since inception, Task Force operations have produced over 4,000 arrests citywide, the seizure of 637 illegal firearms, and the removal of large quantities of narcotics from circulation, clear evidence of its aggressive pursuit of violent offenders and commitment to community protection.
The over 400 arrested individuals all have a nexus to gang ties through either affiliation or membership. These arrests include members of the Gangster Disciples, Vice Lords, Young Mob, Los Serranos, Tren de Agua, EBG (Everybody Killa), Piru Bloods, Grape Street Crips, Kings Gate Mafia, and other factions of Bloods and Crips, among additional gangs.
Collectively, these organizations have been tied to drug trafficking, firearms offenses, violent crimes such as assaults, robberies, and homicides, and organized criminal activity including extortion, racketeering, and turf conflicts, all of which have contributed and fueled high rates of violent crime.
The Memphis Safe Task Force’s results demonstrate a measurable impact on public safety, removing hundreds of violent offenders from the streets. By arresting more than 400 gang‑affiliated individuals and seizing hundreds of illegal firearms, the Task Force has directly reduced the tools and networks driving violent crime.
Its disruption of gangs tied to drug trafficking, extortion, and homicides underscores the importance of coordinated enforcement in restoring community trust. These achievements highlight the Memphis Safe Task Force’s role as a critical force in protecting Memphis neighborhoods and dismantling organized criminal activity.
