Washington, DC – The Making D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force on Monday completed its 250th operational period, reaching a cumulative total of 11,756 criminal arrests and 1,278 illegal firearms recovered since the operation began in early August 2025.

The number of arrests includes 30 for homicide, 2,073 for narcotics, 1,093 for weapons offenses, and 35 for sex offenses. There have been 62 known gang members arrested, 457 juveniles arrested, and 21 missing children located.

The D.C. Safe and Beautiful operation was initiated at the direction of President Trump, with U.S. Marshals Service Director Gadyaces Serralta leading a task force of more than 3,100 people from 28 agencies conducting enforcement activities in all eight wards in the district, all focused on arresting violent criminals, clearing warrants, seizing firearms, and locating missing children.  All agencies involved are committed to a coordinated enforcement effort to identify, apprehend, and hold accountable those who pose a threat to public safety.

“The D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force mission demonstrates our commitment to making our nation’s capital safer from violent crime,” Serralta said. “Protecting the safety of all our communities – the public we serve -- is a sacred duty. I want to thank our federal, state, and local partners for their tireless determination to this endeavor, and I want to assure the public that we are committed to addressing all forms of violent crime in all our cities.”

The Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force is making history as the largest collaboration of law enforcement and the National Guard brought together with the mission to proactively end crime in a major city in modern history. The task force is well on the way to making D.C. the safest and most beautiful city in America.
