U.S. Marshals and CPD Arrest Two Suspects Accused of Murder and Abuse of a Corpse

Columbus, OH – The U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and Columbus Division of Police (CPD) located and arrested fugitives Miranda King and Robert Beine early this morning. King and Beine were wanted by the Columbus Division of Police in connection to a murder that occurred on July 8th, 2023.

On August 20, 2023, arrest warrants were issued by the Franklin County Municipal Court for Miranda King and Robert Beine charging them with Murder and Gross Abuse of a Corpse based on an investigation by the Columbus Division of Police. King and Beine are alleged to have killed William Hamblin in the 1600 block of S. High St. on July 8th. The victim was located after officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a burning body in the woods. SOFAST adopted the case, and the two fugitives were located at a gas station at Lockbourne Road and Frebis Ave. King and Beine fled from the officers and were soon after taken into custody by assisting CPD patrol units. Both suspects were transported to the Franklin County Jail where they will remain pending their initial appearances in court.
