Connecticut Fugitive Captured in Jamaica

Bridgeport, CT – A murder suspect who fled to Jamaica was extradited back to Bridgeport Thursday to face the charges against her.  

Iyana Reynolds, 39, suspected in the Jan. 2, 2022, murder of Andre Brown, 36. Bridgeport Police responding that night to a report of shots fired, obtained an arrest warrant for Reynolds after finding Brown lying in a front yard on Marcel Street.

The assistance of the U.S. Marshals Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force (CVFTF) was requested in locating and apprehending Reynolds. The CVFTF and the Bridgeport Police Department tracked Reynolds to Jamaica.  

U.S. Marshals working with the Jamaican Fugitive Apprehension team apprehended Reynolds in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on July 21. When she appeared before the Corporate Area Parish Court on July 28, she waived her rights to an extradition hearing and was ordered extradited back to the U.S. 

Reynolds is being charged with murder and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Since the inception of the U.S. Marshals – Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force in 1999, these partnerships have resulted in over 11,046 arrests (as of 9/08/2022). The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest violent fugitives and sexual predators. Membership agencies include Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Norwalk and Waterbury Police Departments, as well as Immigration and Customs Enforcement. These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the U.S. Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, eight regional task forces, and a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
