The U.S. Marshals Seeking Assistance in Locating Murder Suspect

Memphis, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces the Marshals Service Task Force is seeking information leading to the capture of Timmie Cooperwood for First Degree Murder.

On October 6 Shaneka Harvell was shot to death in a residence in the 2000 block of Prospect. On October 9 a warrant was issued by Shelby County for First Degree Murder for the arrest of Timmie Cooperwood for this crime. It is alleged that Ms. Harvell was the mother of Cooperwood's children. This fugitive investigation was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Cooperwood is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information should call (731) 571-0280 with information. Cooperwood also has warrants for Aggravated Stalking, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun (two counts), Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Burglary.

"We are asking the public's help in bringing this case to a successful conclusion," said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff's Deputies, Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, ATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
