U.S. Marshals Service Pays Reward for Arrest in 2020 Homicide of 10-Year-Old Child

Memphis, TN – U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announces that the United States Marshals Service (USMS) has approved the payment of a reward for information that led to an arrest in the homicide of 10-year-old Jadon Knox.
On January 19, 2020, Jadon was found shot to death while standing on the front porch of a home in the 700 block of Josephine Avenue in the Orange Mound community of Memphis.
On October 29, 2020, the Marshals Service announced a partnership with the Memphis Police Department in solving the homicides of eight children who had been murdered in 2020, including Jadon, by offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification and apprehension of suspects.
On July 25, 2021, Memphis Police Department arrested and charged Martavis Ayers with Reckless Homicide, Tampering with Evidence, and Making a False Report in connection to Jadon’s murder.
The Marshals Service determined that the information met the qualifications under United States Marshals Service confidential source guidelines, and the tipster will be paid a reward. The Marshals Service neither identifies the names of tipsters nor provides details regarding reward amounts.
"The sudden, unexpected loss of a child is a tragedy," said Marshal Miller. "The Marshals Service remains committed to our community partners, like the Memphis Police Department, and we’re pleased to play a role in helping to bring Jadon’s killer to justice."
The cases listed below are the remaining seven unsolved child homicide cases in 2020. Tipsters may call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274). They can also call the Memphis Police Department Homicide Office at 901-636-3300 and ask to speak with an investigator. The Marshals Service will pay up to $5,000 per case for information that leads to an arrest.

Ashlynn Luckett, age 6, and Lequan Boyd, age 16, were both shot on January 20 when gunshots entered a home in the 6800 block of Kirby Mills Cove.

Hilda Trejo, 9-months-old, died from inflicted trauma on January 22 at a home in the 4600 block of Willow Road.

Jalen Dodge, age 17, was shot in the roadway on March 18 in the 1600 block of Sunset Street.

Tyrell Jones, age 15, was shot in a vehicle on May 7 in the 4000 block of Barron Avenue. Alajah Reynolds, age 16, was found shot on July 11 in a vehicle in the 3100 block of E. Glengarry Drive.

Demetrius Robinson, age 17, was shot on September 3 in the 3800 block of Elvis Presley Boulevard.
