U.S. Marshals Arrest Kentucky Fugitive, Leading to Seizure of Nearly a Pound of Methamphetamine

Lexington, KY – U.S. Marshals Service - Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force (CKFTF) arrested a man on federal probation for Distribution of Methamphetamine after a warrant was issued for violating his supervision on July 31. 

August 11, Christopher Moland of Lexington, was observed by the U.S. Marshals CKFTF during surveillance exiting the residence of 1581 Martha Court, #15 before returning inside a few minutes later. U.S. Marshals CKFTF made contact with Moland at the residence shortly after and arrested him without incident. Upon a search incident-to-arrest, Mr. Moland was found to have a syringe cap in his right pant pocket.

After U.S. Marshals inquired if Moland had anything else narcotics-related on his person, or in the residence he stated there were additional narcotics in the residence and gave consent to a search to retrieve them. U.S. Marshals entered the residence and observed a large amount of narcotics, currency, and other drug paraphernalia in a bedroom belonging to Moland. Due to the large quantity of narcotics observed, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) was contacted for further investigation.

The DEA obtained a search warrant for the residence and yielded the following narcotics: 208 grams of Fentanyl, 434 grams Methamphetamine, 778 grams of Marijuana and nearly 14 thousand dollars in cash. The DEA narcotics investigation is ongoing.
