Toledo, OH – The U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) has arrested two suspects wanted in connection to a violent gang shooting in Michigan. Late in the afternoon yesterday, the task force arrested Montez White, 27. Additionally, two weeks ago on December 30, 2025, the task force arrested Tyrek Rice, 28.
Both White and Rice were wanted by authorities in Jackson, Michigan for the following charges: open murder, four counts of assault with the intent to murder, and various firearms violations. The charges stem from a violent shooting that took place on May 17, 2025, in the 100 block of Lincoln St. in Jackson, Michigan. During the incident four people were injured and one person was killed in the shooting.
Members of the task force received information from authorities in Michigan that the suspects in this crime may be hiding in the Toledo area. On December 30, the task force was able to locate a vehicle Rice was known to drive. Members of the NOVFTF and the Toledo Police SWAT Team conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Airport Highway and Byrne Rd. in Toledo. Rice was located in the vehicle and taken into custody without incident. Yesterday afternoon, the task force located the second suspect, Montez White at an address in the 100 block of Chelmsley Ct. in Toledo. He was arrested there without incident as well.
In addition to the two arrests by the NOVFTF, they are still looking for one remaining fugitive also wanted for the same crimes. Dion Flowers is the last fugitive wanted in connection to this violent murder and assault. Anyone in the community with information about Dion Flowers is encouraged to call the U.S. Marshals tipline. Reward money is available for information leading to the arrest of Flowers.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Investigators in Ohio and Michigan will not stop searching for this last remaining fugitive until he is behind bars. There is nowhere to hide in Ohio, our task force will find you.”
