Missing 15-Year-Old and 5-Year-Old Recovered in Akron

Akron, OH – This afternoon, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) and the Missing Child Unit (MCU) in Akron recovered two missing children.  

Ania Jones, 15, and her 5-year-old sister, Taliah Grant went missing sometime late Monday or early Tuesday from a home in the 1000 block of Roslyn Ave. in Akron.  Akron Police Detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Service worked together to quickly recover the children.

Late this morning, members of the task force and missing child unit were able to safely recover both girls. The girls were found together in a home in the 2200 block of 8th St. SW in Akron, approximately 3 and a half miles from where they went missing.  

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The safe recovery of missing children is at the forefront of the missions of the United States Marshals Service.  We are grateful for the safe recovery of these two young girls. The U.S. Marshals Service and its partners will not give up on missing child cases throughout our communities.”
