New York Homicide Suspect “Scoots” His Way Into U.S. Marshal Custody

Portland, Maine — The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF) announces the arrest of Lamont Dolberry, 52, of New York City, New York, on a charge of Homicide: Murder 2.

Following investigative leads provided by the USMS Eastern District of New York; New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, the USMS-led Maine Violent Offender Task Force developed information indicating that Dolberry had fled New York and had been residing at a location in Maine for the past several months. On the afternoon of November 4th, through a coordinated effort, Task Force members located Dolberry operating an E-Scooter near Cove Road in Winterport, Maine. He was safely apprehended and transported to a local jail facility, where he awaits extradition back to New York.

“You cannot outrun justice when the U.S. Marshals in Maine are on your trail. Through enhanced interagency collaboration, offenders will be found, arrested, and brought to justice. There is no safe haven.” - said Josh Taylor, Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal, for the District of Maine.

The USMS Maine Violent Offender Task Force would like to thank the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the USMS Eastern District of New York, and the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force for their assistance in this investigation. The Maine Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of members from the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Department of Corrections, Biddeford Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Maine National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, and the Coast Guard Investigative Service.
