Oklahoma Fugitive Wanted for Rape in the 1st Degree Apprehended by United States Marshals in Florida

Jacksonville, FL - Danta Thomas was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida by U.S. Marshals from the Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force (FCRFTF). Thomas was wanted on a felony arrest warrant out of Oklahoma County, OK for Rape in the 1st Degree and Attempted Rape in the 1st Degree. Thomas was accused of raping a female inmate while both were in custody at the Oklahoma County Detention Center. U.S. Marshals in Oklahoma City were requested by investigators to locate and apprehend Thomas. Less than 24 hours after receiving the warrant, members of the Western District of Oklahoma Metro Fugitive Task Force (MFTF) were able to conduct numerous and diligent interviews to locate the whereabouts of Thomas.

Deputy United States Marshals and Task Force Officers interviewed numerous members of the community and developed substantial information that would lead them to believe Thomas was in Jacksonville, Florida. On September 19th, based on information developed by the Metro Fugitive Task Force, Thomas was apprehended by the Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force in Jacksonville.

The United States Marshals Service goes above and beyond when locating and apprehending fugitives. The collaboration between U.S. Marshals in Oklahoma City and Jacksonville show that justice will always prevail, "I trust the United States Marshals will always get the job done" said U.S. Marshal Johnny Kuhlman.
