U.S. Marshals and CPD SWAT Arrest Gas Station Murder Suspect

Columbus, OH – For the second day in a row, the U.S. Marshals’ Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), along with the Columbus Division of Police SWAT team and K-9 Unit arrested a murder suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant from the Franklin County Municipal Court. Malike D. Miller, 22, was wanted for murder in connection with the March 3rd shooting at a Sheetz store on the 3000 block of South Hamilton Road. SOFAST adopted the arrest warrant and Miller was quickly located and apprehended in the 1700 block of Shanley Drive, Columbus, Ohio. Miller was then transported to the Franklin County Jail pending his court appearance.

United States Marshal Michael Black stated, “the U.S. Marshals collaborate daily with our state and local law enforcement partners to remove those persons charged with the most violent crimes out of our community. Two murder suspects safely apprehended in two consecutive days is a direct result of the partnership between SOFAST and CPD SWAT.”

Columbus SOFAST is a fugitive-focused, U.S. Marshals Service-led task force consisting of local, state and federal authorities including the Columbus Division of Police, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Bexley Police Department, Cambridge Police Department, Capital University Police Department, Delaware County Probation Office, Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, Lancaster Police Department, Mount Vernon Police Department, Ohio Attorney General Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Ohio Division of State Fire Marshal, Office of Inspector General Social Security Administration, Ohio State Highway Patrol, United States Secret Service, United States Attorney’s Office, Utica Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Zanesville Police Department.
