U.S. Marshals Arrest 2 Murder Fugitives in King of Prussia, PA

Philadelphia, PA - Today, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, along with Montgomery County SWAT and Upper Merion Police, arrested Halim Evans, 20, and Jamel King, 29, in the 500 block of Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia, PA. Both men were wanted for murder in relation to a September 2022 shooting death of a 9-week pregnant female which occurred in the 5300 block of Horrocks Street in Philadelphia. Homicide warrants were issued for both Evans and King in February 2023.
This morning, investigators from U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia developed information Evans and King may be presently located at a hotel in King of Prussia. At approximately 9:15am, a vehicle the fugitives were believed to be operating was located. Surveillance was established and Evans and King were observed by members of the Marshals Service. Montgomery County SWAT was then activated and responded to the suspect location and a joint arrest operation was executed without incident. Evans and King were then transported to the Philadelphia Homicide Detective Division for processing.
The Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force is a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest violent crime fugitives. Membership agencies include the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole Officers, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Attorney General Agents, Chester Police Department, and Bucks County Sheriffs.
