U.S. Marshals Arrest Cleveland Homicide Suspect in Wisconsin

Milwaukee, WI - This morning, members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Eastern Wisconsin Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Bertram Hicks, 30. Hicks was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

It is alleged that on September 6, 2022, Hicks shot and killed Robert Hall Jr., 31. On that date, Cleveland Police responded to the area of W. 41st Street and Clark Avenue in connection with a vehicle that crashed into a pole. As EMS was removing the victim from the vehicle, a gunshot wound was noticed on his body. Hall was pronounced dead at MetroHealth hospital later that day. According to police, video surveillance from a nearby business showed two males exiting the vehicle after the crash and fleeing the scene.

Investigators from the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force developed information that Hicks had fled the Cleveland, Ohio area and was residing in Wisconsin. This morning, members of the Eastern Wisconsin Fugitive Task Force arrested Hicks at an address near the 4100 block of 21st Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, "Our fugitive task force never stops pursuing these fugitives, no matter how far they run to avoid arrest. Outstanding collaboration between the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit and our task force led to the arrest of this violent fugitive over 400 miles from Cleveland."
