U.S. Marshals Arrest Man Wanted in Fatal Hit-And-Run of 14-Year-Old Girl

Philadelphia, PA — Members of the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force arrested Marvin Wicker, 40, in the unit block of W. Coulter Street in Philadelphia. Wicker was wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department for Homicide by Vehicle and related charges, in relation to a September 26th incident at 66th and Haverford Avenue. Wicker is accused of driving a Mercedes which struck and killed a 14-year-old girl who was crossing the street with her mother. On October 5th a warrant was issued for Wicker and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force was asked for assistance.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., investigators from the Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia developed information Wicker was presently in a rooming house in the Germantown Section of Philadelphia. Upon investigating the residence, Wicker was found with another family member and taken into custody without incident. He was then transported to Philadelphia Police Headquarters for processing.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force is a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest violent crime fugitives. Membership agencies include the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole Officers, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Attorney General Agents, Immigration Customs Enforcement, Chester Police Department, Bucks County Sheriffs, and Delaware County Sheriffs.
