U.S. Marshals Arrest Memphis Murder Suspect

Clarksville, Tennessee – A U.S. Marshals task force in Nashville, working a collateral lead from the USMS in Memphis, today arrested a Memphis man wanted for first-degree murder. 

Kevin “KJ” Brown, Jr., 23, was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of felony criminal attempt, two counts of employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and theft of property, and a warrant for his arrest was issued in Shelby County on March 26. 

On March 22, 2025, Memphis Police Officers responded to a middayshooting at the Westin Hotel on Lt. George Lee Avenue in Memphis. When officers arrived, they found Memphis rapper Sayso P, whose real name was Latorian Hunt deceased in the roadway and Houston rapper Sauce Walka, whose real name is Albert Mondane critically injured.

Investigation by the Memphis Police Department revealed multiple gunmen emerged from a vehicle and opened fire on the two rappers before fleeing the scene. Another suspect in the shooting, Jaden Dandridge was found dead in Houston before the warrant against him could be served. 

The U.S. Marshals Service Middle Tennessee Task Force located Brown at a motel on Wilma Rudoph Boulevard in Clarksville. Brown was arrested without incident and taken to the Montgomery County Jail where he will be held for the Memphis Police Department. 

The Clarksville Police Department provided crucial assistance in the apprehension of Brown. The U.S. Marshals Service, working with our state and local partners, is committed to the relentless pursuit of violent offenders to ensure our communities are safer places for all.
