U.S. Marshals Arrest Philadelphia Crime Spree Fugitive

Philadelphia, PA - Today, at approximately 11:30am, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Brian Amerman, 19, in the 2000 block of East Rush Street in Philadelphia, PA. Amerman was wanted on 2 carjacking warrants and 1 attempted murder warrant. These warrants were issued late in the evening on May 23rd and immediately delegated to the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force.

Early this morning, investigators from the task force responded to numerous tips they received overnight regarding Amerman’s whereabouts. At approximately 11:30am, investigators made contact with a relative who confirmed Amerman was presently in a residence on the 2000 block of Rush Street. The residence was quickly surrounded by task force personnel and Amerman was arrested inside the home without incident. Amerman was then transported to the Shooting Investigative Group (SIG) for processing.

Eric Gartner, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania stated, “The greater Philadelphia community can breathe a sigh of relief with Brian Amerman’s cowardly, callous and violent crime spree having been brought to a swift conclusion.” 

The Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force is a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest violent crime fugitives. Membership agencies include the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole Officers, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Attorney General Agents, Chester Police Department, and Bucks County Sheriffs.
