U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect Wanted for Two Separate Homicides

Cleveland, OH – The U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), in conjunction with the Cleveland Police Department (CPD), arrested Lavadus Morris (20) earlier this morning. Morris was wanted by both CPD and the Euclid Police Department (EPD) for separate homicides. 

Morris is the suspect in the murder of Terez Avery. Avery was killed on June 22nd in the area of East 103rd and St. Clair. Morris is also the suspect in the murder of Ty’Wan Johnson. Johnson was killed on September 24th, 2022, in the area of E. 240th and Puritan. Morris is the alleged shooter in both incidents. 

The NOVFTF was able to locate and arrest Morris earlier this morning in the 4100 block of Woodbridge Ave. in Cleveland. Morris will be booked into the Cuyahoga County jail where he will await his court appearance.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The importance of today’s arrest can’t be understated. This individual has been terrorizing our community and needed to be taken off the streets. Our city is a safer place after the hard work of our officers and partners. I hope the families of the victims can find some solace with today’s arrest.”
