U.S. Marshals Arrest Two Female Juvenile Homicide Suspects: Seventh Homicide Arrest for Operation 216

Cleveland, OH – This morning, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old juvenile, who were both wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, officers were dispatched to the area of 8000 Golden Avenue in reference to a “shots fired” call. Upon arrival, officers located Kanye Williams, 19, slumped over in a vehicle, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Officers also located a juvenile male who had suffered gunshot wounds on the street near E. 79th and Quincy Ave. It is alleged that the two males were getting into a vehicle, attempting to leave a residence on Golden Avenue when they were fired upon. Williams was later pronounced dead at University Hospital.

Today, members of the U.S. Marshals, NOVFTF arrested two female juveniles in connection to this homicide. A 15-year-old female juvenile was arrested from a residence near the 7900 block of Golden Ave., Cleveland, OH. The other juvenile, a 17-year-old female, was arrested at an address near the 2200 block of E. 89th Street, Cleveland, OH. With the arrest of these two juveniles, the US Marshals have now arrested 7 homicide suspects in the City of Cleveland since the start of “Operation 216” last week.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Strong local, state, and federal law enforcement relationships are the key to helping reduce violent crime. The U.S. Marshals will continue to work side by side with the officers of the Cleveland Division of Police to take violent fugitives off the street.”
