U.S. Marshals Arrest Wells Man for Attempted Murder

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force and the Wells Police Department announce the arrest of Emanuel Diggs, 22, of Wells, Maine. Diggs had a State warrant issued for his arrest for Attempted Murder on December 10th and was safely apprehended last night on December 11th, 2023.
On Saturday December 9th, 2023, at 4:42 p.m., the Wells Police Department took a report of an incident involving a firearm that happened the previous evening at a residence on Littlefield Road in Wells. Based upon their investigation, a warrant for arrest was sought and issued for Diggs. The Wells Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force to help locate and apprehend Diggs.
Through a collaborative effort from the United States Marshals Service (USMS) and the Wells Police Department, investigators developed information that Diggs was still in Wells, Maine. The USMS, Maine Violent Offender Task Force located Diggs and was able to apprehend him safely at a nearby gas station without incident. According to the Wells Police Department, future charges are likely.
The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine State Police, Maine Department of Corrections, Biddeford Police Department, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
