U.S. Marshals Capture Violent West Tennessee Suspect in Middle Tennessee

Hardin County, TN – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) captured a violent West Tennessee fugitive, Sherrick Vaughn, in Middle Tennessee.

On April 16, 2024, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office investigated an incident that resulted in warrants issued for the arrest of Sherrick Vaughn, 35, of Savannah, TN, for three counts of aggravated child abuse. The USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF) in Jackson was asked to locate and apprehend Vaughn.

The Two Rivers Task Force developed information that Vaughn was in Middle TN and provided investigative leads to the USMS Middle TN Joint Fugitive Task Force in Nashville. On December 11, 2024, the USMS found Vaughn in Humphreys County, TN. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Humphreys County Jail.

In addition to the Hardin County charges, Vaughn was wanted in Decatur County, TN, for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He is also wanted in Dickson County, TN, for aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and false imprisonment.

The U.S. Marshals Service Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The TRVFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, and Gibson County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis and Jackson Police Officers, Tennessee Department of Correction Special Agents and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Since 2021, the TRVFTF has captured approximately 3,000 violent offenders and sexual predators.
