U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Harrisburg Attempted Homicide Suspect

Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Kuami Wright – a 36-year old Harrisburg man.

On August 4, 2019, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police investigated a shooting at a bar which resulted in serious bodily injury to a person. Later, detectives from the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office obtained an arrest warrant charging Wright with Criminal Attempt – Homicide and lesser included offenses. Wright was also wanted by the Lower Paxton Township Police Department for Terroristic Threats and the Dauphin County Sheriff for failing to appear to answer for a charge of False Reports to Law Enforcement. Attempts to find Wright were unsuccessful and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

Today at about 3 p.m., task force members arrested Wright without incident in the 1400 block of Herr Street, Harrisburg. He was turned over to the Dauphin County Booking Center for processing and arraignment.

The U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the Harrisburg Bureau of Police; the Swatara Township Police Department; the Lower Paxton Township Police Department; and, the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office – all of whom participated in this investigation.
