U.S. Marshals ‘Operation Wash Out’ Concludes With Over 100 Arrests in the Toledo Area

Toledo, OH –  A U.S. Marshals Service-led multijurisdictional law enforcement operation, which focused on apprehending violent fugitives and subjects wanted for felony narcotic violations at 12 locations throughout the U.S., has resulted in nearly 600 arrests nationally.

The operations aimed at combating drug related and violent crimes at locations identified with some of the highest overdose rates in the country, including Providence, Rhode Island; Baytown, Texas; Newark, New Jersey; Toledo, Ohio; Robstown, Texas; Springfield, Massachusetts; Orlando, Florida; Scranton, Pennsylvania; Charleston, West Virginia; Gresham, Oregon; Orangeburg, South Carolina; and Richmond, Virginia.  

Here locally, the operation was run in and around the city of Toledo from January 22 through February 2. Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) focused on violent fugitives and those wanted for various felony narcotics violations. Over 115 people were arrested in the two-week span, arrests included: 40 for narcotics violations, 17 for assault, 7 for weapons violations and 4 for robbery.

Lucas County Sheriff Michael Navarre stated, "Operation Wash Out was a great example of professional collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies working towards a shared goal.

The success of this endeavor positively impacts the residents of Lucas County."

During Operation Wash Out, members of the NOVFTF and Toledo Police Department worked to locate and arrest Tyron Eubanks.  Eubanks was wanted for various drug charges by the Toledo Police Department, warrants for his arrest were issued in October 2023.  The task force and Toledo SWAT were able to locate Eubanks at a home in the 1700 block of Loxley Ave. in Toledo. Eubanks was arrested without incident, but during the arrest the following items were seized: 30 grams of fentanyl, over 4800 grams of marijuana, 100 grams of methamphetamine, 42 grams of cocaine, 28 grams of crack, two shot guns, two handguns, and over $10,000 in U.S. currency.

Toledo Police Chief Michael Troendle added, “Our collaboration with local and federal partners exemplifies the strength of unified law enforcement efforts. Together, we successfully executed arrest warrants on violent felons, removing dangerous individuals from our streets and seizing illegal weapons and drugs. This operation underscores the power of teamwork in safeguarding our communities.”

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The past two weeks have been a success for locating and arresting violent fugitives in the city of Toledo. Make no mistake, the task force and its partnerships have been here for years and will continue to be here for years to come, supporting local law enforcement and promoting the safety of our communities by taking violent fugitives off the streets.”
