U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrest Suspect on Kidnapping, Aggravated Domestic Assault, and Theft of Motor Vehicle Theft

Jackson, TN – The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Tanner Hedge, 24, of Benton County, for Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault (Domestic), and Motor Vehicle Theft from Henderson County, Tenn. U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller announced today.

On April 21, Tanner Hedge was allegedly involved in a Domestic Assault with his girlfriend. Hedge then took their 11-month-old child and then stole his girlfriend’s car. The car was later found hidden in Benton County near his father’s house. Hedge then handed the child to his father's friend and continued to flee law enforcement, which he was not found after a search of the area.

On April 21, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Hedge for Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault (Domestic) and Motor vehicle Theft. This case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson.

On April 27, the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Hedge at a residence near Patsy Lane in Cedar Grove. Hedge was taken into custody without incident. Hedge will be held at the Carroll County Jail awaiting extradition to Henderson County.

"The Marshals Service is glad to assist our partners and apprehend Tanner Hedge for these crimes," said U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller. "We're even more relieved that the baby was returned, unharmed."

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force within Western Tennessee. The Western Tennessee Division of the Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
