U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrests 2 Wanted for Homicide

Cleveland, OH – This morning, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Robert Bryson, 65 and Stafonze Robinson, 23. Bryson was wanted by the city of New York for 2nd degree manslaughter and Robinson was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

It is alleged that on July 18, 2020, Bryson and another male got into a verbal altercation outside of an establishment near the 600 block of Nostrand Ave., Brooklyn, NY. The altercation turned physical, and Bryson is accused of shooting and killing victim. Today, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Robert Bryson at an address near the 1100 block of Norwood Ave., Cleveland, OH. Bryson initially barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to answer the door for officers. He was eventually arrested and then booked into the Cuyahoga County jail, where he is awaiting extradition back to New York.  

On May 25, 2023, David McCray, 40, was shot and killed while sitting in the vacuum section of an auto wash located near the 3600 block of Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH. The incident happened just after 5 p.m., and as police arrived, they found McCray slumped over inside his vehicle with 9 gun shot wounds. McCray was taken to University Hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. Cleveland Police Homicide Division identified Stafonze Robinson as a suspect in this fatal shooting and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Today, members of the NOVFTF arrested Robinson at an address near the 18900 block of Homeway Road, Cleveland, OH. A firearm was also seized at the time of the arrest.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “During Operation 216 we will continue to work with our partners at the Cleveland Division of Police and all members of our NOVFTF to arrest the most violent fugitives in an effort to keep Cleveland a safe city for its citizens.”
