Columbus, OH – The U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested fugitive Santos Carrillo on June 7, 2023, on an outstanding arrest warrant from Davidson County, North Carolina. In January of 2016, an arrest warrant was issued for Carrillo charging him with a First-Degree Sex Offense of a Child. The Thomasville North Carolina Police Department investigation revealed Carrillo allegedly sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13. The United States Marshals Carolinas Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CRFTF) adopted the investigation. U.S. Marshals and the Thomasville Police Department continued to search for Carrillo after learning he had fled to Mexico. Years later, their persistence led investigators to locating Carrillo in Marietta, Ohio. The Carolinas Area Regional Fugitive Task Force forwarded this information to the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team and within a day Carrillo was arrested in the 100 Block of Sacra Via Street, Marietta, Ohio. Carrillo is currently in the custody of the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
United States Marshal Michael Black stated, “the United States Marshals Service and its law enforcement partners throughout the country will not give up when it comes to finding a fugitive accused of crimes against children.
